Websites for painters who work for builders

If most of your work comes from builders, your website is a reference check. It has to show a builder you finish on programme, work cleanly alongside other trades, and have the crew to cover their jobs.

Who hires you, and what they look for

Builder-subcontract work comes from a small number of repeat clients who value reliability over price.

Residential builders

A painting crew that turns up when the programme says, finishes to the standard their clients expect, and leaves the site clean for the next trade.

Group home and volume builders

Capacity across several sites, consistent finishes, and invoicing that matches their stage payments.

Renovation companies

Painters who handle occupied homes, blend new work with old, and deal politely with the homeowner.

What the site must show

These are the sections we build for new-build and builder-subcontract painters, filled with your own words and photos. The general list of what every plan includes is on what you get.

  1. Where you fit in the build programme

Stopping and sanding, sealing, ceilings and walls, joinery, exterior. A simple stage list shows a builder you understand the sequence.

  2. Crew and capacity

How many painters you run and how many sites you can carry at once. Give real numbers, and update them as your team changes.

  3. New-build finish photos

Clean interiors, cut-in lines, ceilings under raking light, exterior trims. Builders look for the detail their clients will notice at handover.

  4. How you handle defects and touch-ups

Your process at handover and after, and how quickly you come back. This is what builders ask each other about.

  5. A trade enquiry route

A separate form for builders with plans and programme dates, so homeowner enquiries don’t bury trade work.

A sample page structure

A starting point for a new-build and builder-subcontract painters site. We adjust it to the services you actually offer on the first call.

  • Home Who you work for, capacity line, finish photos, trade enquiry button.
  • What we do By build stage.
    • New-build interiors
    • Exterior and trims
    • Renovation painting
  • Working with builders Programme, site behaviour, defects process.

  • Trade enquiries The builder form above.

The enquiry form

A builder’s enquiry needs programme and plan details:

  • Company and site contact
  • Build type: new home, multi-unit, renovation
  • Site location
  • Stage and expected painting dates
  • Plans or specification link
  • Interior, exterior or both

Fields are set to your work. Customers can always add a message.

Common mistakes on these sites

  • A consumer-style site that never mentions builders, so the people who hire you can’t tell you’re a fit.
  • Builder logos used without asking.
  • No mobile number for the person who runs the crews.

Questions from new-build and builder-subcontract painters

Most of my work is word of mouth. Why would I need a site?

Builders who hear your name still look you up. A site that shows your finishes, capacity and process confirms the recommendation. It also gives you a place to take homeowner work when builders go quiet.

Can I show photos from a builder’s project?

Ask the builder first, and the homeowner if the house is occupied. Many builders are happy to agree if you credit them and leave out the address.

Should I take homeowner enquiries as well?

If you want them, yes, on a separate form. If you don’t, say so on the site so you aren’t spending evenings on small jobs you won’t take.
