Websites for house painters who repaint homes

Homeowners choose a house painter on trust. They want to see your finished work, know you turn up, and understand what a quote covers before they let you near their weatherboards.

Who hires you, and what they look for

A repaint business usually hears from three kinds of customer, and each reads your site looking for something different.

Owner-occupiers

Photos of homes like theirs, a sense of how you protect gardens, floors and furniture, and how long the job will take. Many are comparing two or three painters and read every page.

Landlords and property managers

Quick turnaround between tenancies, tidy invoicing and someone who can work from a key safe. They care less about colour advice and more about reliability.

People getting a house ready to sell

A fixed date, a fixed price and a finish that photographs well. They often search in a hurry and ring the first painter whose site answers their questions.

What the site must show

These are the sections we build for house painters, filled with your own words and photos. The general list of what every plan includes is on what you get.

  1. Before and after photos of real repaints

Group them by job type: exterior weatherboards, interiors, fences and decks. A caption naming the suburb and the prep work done tells a homeowner more than a gallery of close-ups.

  2. Your prep process in plain words

Washing, scraping, sanding, filling, priming, then top coats. Homeowners have heard stories about paint peeling after a year, so explain what you do before any colour goes on.

  3. What a written quote includes

Which surfaces, how many coats, which paint system, who moves furniture, and how variations are handled. It saves you a phone call per enquiry and sets expectations early.

  4. Suburbs and towns you cover

A clear list, with a sentence on how you handle jobs just outside it. People searching for a painter near them look for their own suburb name before anything else.

  5. How you work around a lived-in home

Drop sheets, daily clean-up, access to rooms, working around pets and children. It is the question most homeowners are too polite to ask on the phone.

  • Services One page per job type so each can be found on its own.
    • Exterior house painting
    • Interior painting
    • Fences, decks and outdoor timber
  • Our work Before and after pairs, captioned by suburb and job type.
  • How we work Prep, protection, clean-up and timing.
  • Areas we cover The suburb list, with nearby towns.
  • Get a quote The enquiry form above, plus what happens next.

The enquiry form

A repaint enquiry form works best when it asks what you would ask on the first call:

  • Interior, exterior or both
  • House type and roughly how many rooms or storeys
  • Cladding for exteriors (weatherboard, brick, plaster, board and batten)
  • Suburb
  • When they would like the work done
  • Photos of the job, if they have them

Fields are set to your work. Customers can always add a message.

Common mistakes on these sites

  • A gallery of close-up brush shots that could be anyone’s work.
  • No suburb names anywhere on the site.
  • A phone number as the only way to ask for a quote, for customers who browse at night.

Questions from house painters

Should I publish prices for house painting?

Most repaint businesses don’t publish fixed prices because every house is different. What helps is explaining what changes the price: size, condition, cladding, height and the number of coats. We lay out whatever pricing information you decide to share.

Do quotes and estimates mean different things to my customers?

Yes. Consumer Protection NZ treats a quote as a fixed price and says the final price should generally be within 10-15% of an estimate. Your site can explain which one you give, so customers aren’t surprised.

Can I show jobs from before I had the website?

Yes, if they are your jobs and you have the homeowner’s permission to show their house. Leave out house numbers and anything that identifies the address.
